PRODUCE CLERK  

Salary range: $17.80-$20.00

As a Produce Team Member at our family-owned market, you’ll be responsible for maintaining fresh and attractive produce displays, receiving and preparing fresh produce and interacting with consumers to educating them on our product. You may also support other functions as needed, such as helping customers at the checkstands, and bagging and stocking groceries.

What you'll do: Responsibilities

  • Create fresh and appealing fresh produce displays, including preparing product for display by washing, cleaning and trimming product

  • Unload product from trucks, break down pallets, separate produce for sales floor, cooler and/or back room prep area.

  • Keep cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating, and removing out-of-date products.

  • Help customers, answering their questions and helping them make product decisions; Provide consistently excellent customer service.

  • Verify prices and signage, remove out-of-date signs

  • Perform routine price changes; Report errors in pricing or signage

  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment, and complete logs that ensure timely maintenance.

  • Operate and sanitize equipment in safely and properly.

  • Comply with all applicable US regulatory rules and regulations, Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.

  • Other duties as assigned

Desired work experience

  • Minimum 1 year of produce experience
